too cool for skool?
4 minute read
Last week Alex Hormozi broke a world record by selling roughly 3,000,000 copies of his book during a 72-hour period that included an eight-hour live launch party.
As an incentive to get people to join the event, he had promised a few free gifts. One of them was three months free with Skool.
For those of you who are not familiar with it, Skool is an online platform designed for communities. It is a place where you can deliver courses, run live events, host forums, and post content, and chat all in one place.
While I will keep hosting REVIVER on Kajabi for now, I've decided to experiment with using Skool as a community space. My first group is centred around The Life Compass.
Also, I had a bit of an epiphany.
getting closer to the truth
Many of the things and experiences we pursue in life contain the seed of truths we do not always recognise at first glance. They live just beneath the surface of our choices, nudging us in certain directions, often in an attempt to get us to recognise, appreciate, and embrace them more than we are.
The fact is, I've been resisting an expression of one of mine for years.
It is not that I've kept this truth hidden, I've just resisted stating it explicitly, not wholly out of fear, but in part: fear that I might alienate people that I know the tools I offer could help.
But, in trying to make my message as palatable as possible to as many people as possible, I've been denying that truth, and in denying it, and not living more closely in alignment with it, I have been resisting the very creative expression that I help others to live close to!
(This is why I call it Life Therapy, because all healing takes place as part of a complex system - it's never just the individual, but the group!)
So my perspective has shifted.
To clarify...
All one thing
Everything, at one level, is the same thing.
We call it 'Universe' - the one thing that is many things.
You are a unique expression of that one thing.
In other words, you are not a separate thing experiencing the universe, but rather an aspect of the universe that is experiencing and creating itself.
Most of the problems we face are the result of believing we are not, of believing that we are seperate beings expereinceing the universe, as opposed to an expression of a creative universe that is experinceing and creating itself.
My purpose is to wake people up to this fact, to remind them that they are sovereign expressions of a creative universe, and that when they live in alignment with what they find to be true in themselves and the world, their expression of life aligns with the truth of their true nature.
